ROLE PURPOSE & PRINCIPLES

The Customer Insights Analyst provides syndicated and internal data analysis and resulting insights to support category growth for assigned operating group(s) or key retail customer(s). Tracks and reports on tactical elements of category plans at national or customer level and on total category and brand performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Support Customer Insights Manager in development of customer-specific strategic category plans and category reviews by
  1. Providing analysis with resultant insights to customize category business plans including tactical elements, and routinely visit and present to customers with Customer Insights Manager
  2. Proactively improving CPG clients product positioning and space allocation through POG work
  3. Tracking and reporting on tactical elements of category plans at customer level
  • Collaborate internally with brand and sales teams to develop category/business reviews, and major program and innovation sales decks
  • Analyze and assess category/customer/channel ‘state of the business’ using developed tools or building new tools and models as needed
  • Basic market analysis to help identify category opportunities
  • Contribute to category management presentations for senior leadership within CPG clients
  • Manage internal and external ad-hoc requests, as directed by manager
  • Where appropriate, act as vendor advisor and perform key duties (act as primary contact for the retailer category managers and assistants, regularly prepare and present category reviews to buyers, track and report on tactical elements for retailer, and appropriate planogram work)

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.), AC Nielsen Workstation Plus.
  • University graduate – Business program preferred
  • 1-2 years of CPG experience
  • Strong analytical, communication (oral and written), and collaboration skills
